Galway's Paul Conroy and Austin Gleeson of Waterford have been named as the respective GAA/GPA Opel Football and Hurling Players of the Month for June.

Conroy, who captained the Tribesmen to All-Ireland minor glory in 2007, gave a virtuoso midfield display as Galway ended Mayo's bid for a sixth successive Connacht SFC title in sensational fashion at Elvery's MacHale Park. He will be in action again on Sunday when Galway renew their rivalry with Roscommon in the Connacht SFC final replay.

Gleeson has been recognised for his man of the match performance in Waterford's Munster SHC semi-final victory over Clare. The Deise went down badly to Tipperary in last Sunday's Munster final, but will have an opportunity to make amends when they face Wexford in Sunday week's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final.
