Tipperary forward Noel McGrath admits that they will have to step up a gear to claim a 42nd Munster SHC title.

The Premier County booked their place in this year's decider courtesy of an impressive win over Limerick last weekend.

They now face a formidable Waterford side and McGrath told the Tipperary Star that nothing short of a top performance will see them over the line.

"There has been serious work going on over the last number of weeks and months and lads pushing hard for positions," said McGrath.

"We have a massive test in three weeks' time because Waterford have serious credentials."
