Waterford manager Derek McGrath has hailed Michael 'Brick' Walsh as 'the best team player' to have ever played for the county.
Walsh gave a man of the match display in last Sunday's NHL semi-final against Limerick as the Decies booked their place in the decider against Clare.
And his manager stressed to the Waterford News & Star that Walsh is the most unselfish player to have lined out with the county as he set up numerous scores in last weekend's clash.
"Michael Walsh, for me, is the best team player that has ever played for Waterford. I mean that with no disrespect to the absolute greats that have played for Waterford over the last 20 years," said McGrath.
"His selflessness is just unbelievable, his influence around the camp and at times he doesn't get enough credit for his play. He delays the pass when he has possession, he sucks fellas in and gives out the ball.
"I think a lot of that comes from the Gaelic Football. It's just his whole attitude around the camp. He is very honest as well and self critical, he is never one to play the blame game.
"I'm just very fortunate as a manager to be able to be working with him. Sometimes, his work rate is often unseen by many people within hurling circles but the main thing is that we see it."
