Injured Ballygunner forward Pauric Mahony has backed team mate Brian O'Sullivan to deliver the goods on Sunday.

Mahony's season was ended early in the summer after he suffered a horrific broken leg and it was left to O'Sullivan to take up the free taking duties.

And he has not let the side down as they prepare for Sunday's Munster Club SHC final against Na Piarsaigh.

Mahony is fully confident that his county colleague will once again step up to the mark against the Limerick champions.

"Brian is a confident enough fella himself and any time we had the chance we would do a bit of practicing before training or games. Brian doesn't need to be listening to me," Mahony told the Waterford News & Star.

"When we were growing up, Brian use to hit the close range frees and I would hit the long range so we were working together. He would have been used to it up to minor and was number one free taker at underage level. So far, so good for him in that department."
