Jarlath Burns has confirmed that there are going to be further changes to gaelic football's playing rules.

The GAA's high-powered playing rules committee - which includes Sean Boylan, Darragh O Se, Frank Murphy and Pat Daly -  has been examining all aspects of the game's rules over the last six months and is due to finalise proposals before November's Management Committee meeting.

Burns says changes will definitely be made but has suggested that these will not be as sweeping as those brought in by the Football Review Committee. Some of the changes on the cards could include the introduction of a mark and adequate additional time being allocated for substitutions.

"We have one more meeting to go before that Management Committee meeting and while we have discussed much we have agreed nothing yet. There are a lot of strong opinions," the Armagh man told The Irish Independent.

"However those who are expecting radical change will be disappointed while those who are expecting no change will also be disappointed."
