Austin Gleeson was one of three players to be given their marching orders during an ill-tempered Waterford SHC encounter between Mount Sion and Dungarvan yesterday.

The county centre back, who is preparing for next month's Munster SHC final against Tipperary, was sent off along with Dungarvan opponent Colm Curran following a mass brawl involving up to 30 players and mentors late in the first half of the third round clash at Fraher Field. Sion finished the game with 13 players after former county man Eoin McGrath picked up a second yellow card in the second half.

Eight yellow cards were issued in all by referee Dessie O'Leary as Dungarvan finished strongly to claim a 1-22 to 2-16 victory.

In the opening game at Fraher Field, Roanmore defeated Cappoquin 2-13 to 2-8.

That mass brawl in the Mount Sion and Dungarvan game was caught on camera...
