Waterford under-21 manager Derek Lyons admits that his side could be up against it when they take on Waterford in the Munster hurling semi-final this evening (Wednesday).

Lyons points to the fact that the entire Waterford squad got together for the first time last week, while Cork who don't have many seniors in their squad, have been able to prepare properly.

"We have seen Cork on a few occasions and they've had access to all bar two of their squad for the last six or seven months. They are training regularly and competing regularly as a squad," Lyons told the Waterford News & Star.

"I am expecting the same kind of Cork performance that was in Walsh Park last year and annihilated a star studded Waterford team with 13 seniors involved.

"They brought a particular game plan and I have no doubt that they will bring the same game plan with the same intensity and honesty that we are looking for.

"We will have to match it and better it and hope then that we have a little bit more skill. It's a daunting task."
