Waterford manager Tom McGlinchey is pleased to have some time to regroup with his side.

The Decies suffered their first competitive defeat of the year when losing to Offaly in the NFL last weekend.

And now, the players have a few days off before they come back in and prepare for the next round of the league in three weeks' time.

"We have a few days off and then two weeks up to the Carlow game," McGlinchey told the Waterford News & Star.

"We will probably play a practise game among ourselves the week before. We have some players on the panel who haven't seen game time in a while so we need to get them up to speed.

"We have been on the go for six weeks. It's our first defeat in six weeks and it's disappointing. What's good from our point of view is how disappointed they are in so far as we have been on a winning streak for five weeks. They have lost one game but they will be back and ready for Carlow."
