Waterford IT and IT Carlow qualify for quarter finals.

After a disappointing defeat to Limerick Mary Immaculate, WIT showed their title credentials when hammering hapless Maynooth 6-35 to 0-4. Pauric O Mahony notched all of 1-18 with Austin Gleeson shooting 3-3.

A wee bit of a shock as IT Carlow were full value for their 4-17 to 1-17 victory over Limerick Mary I. First half goals from Jack Fagan and a brace by Chris Bolger set up a 3-8 to 0-9 interval lead. Another green flag per Stephen Maher had the winners 4-12 to 0-12 clear,

Waterford top the group with the DJ Carey trained Carlow lads in second,

Meanwhile Cork IT also took pole position in their section (both teams had already qualified) with a 1-14 to 1-10 win over UCD. A first half goal from Noel McNamara established a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead for the southern boys. As group winners they will enjoy home advantage in the quarter finals.

Nothing at stake bar the bragging rights in the other Group A game as DCU ran out comfortable 1-20 to 0-11 winners over St. Pats. The student teachers were on top early on but DCU finished much the stronger.
