The Nire manager Benji Whelan admits that it is surreal being in a Munster club SFC final.

Following last weekend's dramatic extra time win over Cratloe, the Waterford champions are through to the provincial decider where they will face Kerry's Austin Stacks.

No Waterford club has even won the club SFC title before and The Nire will bid to do so, although Whelan admitted to the Waterford News & Star that reaching the final was still sinking in.

"We are in dreamland now. Going up against the best in Kerry, it's absolutely unbelievable," said Whelan. "It's fantastic for Waterford football.

"The clubs in Waterford have a fantastic tradition of coming out of the county and doing very well in the Munster championship. Somebody is going to make the breakthrough and maybe it will be us in two weeks' time."
