The Nire manager Benji Whelan is adamant that the Waterford champions can have a good Munster club SFC campaign.

Following on from their 0-11 to 0-06 win over Stradbally in the county final last weekend, attention quickly turned to the provincial club championship and a date with Limerick champions Ballylanders on November 2nd.

"Realistically, we will be looking to do something here now," Whelan told the Waterford News & Star. "We are not going to rest on our laurels.

"It's so hard to get out of the county that it's very important that you go after it and try and create something.

"It wasn't that long ago that this group was in a Munster final. There's no reason to believe that we can't do it again."
