McGrath enjoying every moment

Waterford's Eoin McGrath

Mount Sion forward Eoin McGrath admits that he is enjoying his hurling more than ever as he prepares for yet another county SHC final.

Old rivals Ballygunner and Mount Sion go head to head in this year's decider and the latter are surprise packets reaching this stage as many had them written off over the last few years.

McGrath retired from inter-county hurling in 2012 and he told the Waterford News & Star that in the twilight of his career, he has learned to appreciate every game he plays.

"I'm enjoying it more now," said McGrath. "It just goes to show how much the club means to you. I probably could have stayed on one more year but you know what I was glad that I retired that year to be honest.

"I have a new lease of life with the club and I'm enjoying my hurling again. The last few years with the county I didn't really enjoy it. When you are not playing the whole time, it's hard to enjoy the game. Back with the club now and things are going well for me and going well for the team so happy days."
