Munster's Competitions Control Committee will meet in Castletroy, Co. Limerick tonight amid speculation that a return to an open draw format in the province's SFC could be on the cards.

Munster's four so-called weaker football counties - Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Waterford - were up in arms after a decision was taken last year to seed Cork and Kerry in this year's Munster SFC.  The four counties boycotted the McGrath Cup and didn't make their players available for Railway Cup selection in protest.

But it would now seem that the open draw will be reintroduced, but not until 2016 simply because Kerry and Cork - as Munster finalists this year - will automatically receive byes into next year's semi-finals.

Limerick football committee chairman John Cregan said recently: "The Limerick view is anything but what we have now."

A decision on the structure of the Munster SFC will have to be finalised at tonight's meeting as the draws for the 2015 provincial championships are due to take place next month.
