There were three games down for decision this evening as the All-Ireland hurling and football championship qualifiers gathered pace.

The first of the action saw two in-form sides meet at Dr Hyde Park as Roscommon took on Armagh in what was quite an intriguing battle at 5pm.

Then at 7pm, Clare were hoping to cause a major surprise when they entertained Kildare at Cusack Park, Ennis. Both outfits went into this clash and the back of comfortable wins in the last round.

Also throwing in at 7pm was the hurling qualifier between Waterford and Wexford at Nowlan Park. Having defeated the All-Ireland champions after a replay, Wexford were full of confidence, and they needed it all
