Deise defy County Board training ban

Waterford's hurlers are reported to have broken a training ban imposed by their County Board.

According to today's Irish Examiner, Derek McGrath organised a private training session on Tuesday night, even though the County Board has ruled that there should be no more collective training until after May Bank Holiday weekend.

It emerged earlier this week that Waterford are not allowed to train again until May 6th, but the County Board insists it did not impose the ban this week.

Chiefs in the county state that they are enforcing a prior arrangement that had been agreed at the start of the year by both senior county managers.

They say that they simply moved to make sure that the agreement was being adhered to, after receiving correspondence from clubs.
