Waterford's Shane O'Sullivan will find out this week if he will be eligible to play in the Munster SHC opener against Cork on May 25.

The Ballygunner clubman was sent off on a straight red card in the Deise's Division 1A relegation playoff defeat to Dublin on March 30 last for a high challenge on Michael Carton, and is appealing the decision to the CCCC. A straight red card carries an automatic one-match ban, so O'Sullivan is facing the prospect of missing the Cork game if he loses his appeal. Tweet
