Waterford dealt Shanahan blow
February 18, 2014
Waterford's Maurice Shanahan
Maurice Shanahan has been ruled out of the remainder of the national hurling league.
The Lismore clubman sustained ankle ligament damage during Saturday night's Division 1A opener against Tipperary at Semple Stadium. He will be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Quick-off-the-mark Na Deise manager Derek McGrath had already named his team for this Sunday's second-round clash with Galway at Walsh Park and had listed Shanahan at top of the right.
McGrath is also awaiting the results of a scan on Seamus Prendergast's injured hand.
