McGrath, Mary

January 31, 2012
It is with deep regret that we report the death of Mrs Mary McGrath, late of Farranalahesery, Georgestown,Kill who passed away on Thursday last following an illness. Mrs McGrath, nee Hussey, originally from Cahir, Co. Tipperary, was the widow of the late well known footballer Tom McGrath and our thoughts are with her sons Christopher and Patrick and their families. Always a very active member of the community, Mrs McGrath will be remembered fondly by many as a primary school teacher in Kill National School, where she shared her enthusiasm for music, singing in particular from 1973 to 2006. Even after retiring, she was always seen around the community to help out, teach and mentor with an incomparable passion.
Not only was Mrs McGrath associated with local Christmas Plays, concerts and music in general, but she was also a member of a prominent Waterford Choir. She will be missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
