De La Salle boss "devastated"
February 24, 2011
De La Salle manager Michael Ryan admitted to being "devastated" following his team's cruel defeat to Clarinbridge.
Speaking after watching his heroic charges suffer the most heartbreaking defeat possible in Semple Stadium last weekend, a shellshocked Ryan conceded:
"Words just fail me. We're absolutely devastated. I thought we got so much right during the course of the game. I felt that we had what it took to win the game.
"As always, we gave it our all and it looked to be our day but that goal in injury time has just left us all shocked.
"But I'm still proud of these players because they've given it their all throughout the course of the year.
"I've no doubt that these players will be back stronger than ever for the 2011 championship, but for now it's just sheer devastation."
