Former Waterford hurling ace Fergal Hartley is set to take over the county's Under 21 side for the forthcoming season.

The Ballygunner clubman is set to be ratified to the post at next Monday night's county board meeting and will bring Tom Feeney and Derek McGrath, who managed De La Salle College to Harty Cup and All-Ireland glory in recent years, on board as his selectors as they look to lead the Deises to a coveted Munster title.

"I really will be giving the new job my very best start," Hartley stated.

"It is an immense honour to have been asked to take it on, and in Tom Feeney and Derek McGrath I have colleagues who know all that there is to know about the game." Tweet
