Waterford sweat over Kelly injury

July 10, 2010
Waterford manager Davy Fitzgerald has delayed naming his side for tomorrow's Munster SHC final against Cork in order to give Eoin Kelly every opportunity to prove his fitness.

The Passage clubman is rated extremely doubtful for the provincial final at Thurles as he has a foot infection and is currently on crutches, which is a major blow to the Deise.

The loss of such an influential player could well be detrimental to Waterford's chances of lifting the Munster title, particularly as Kelly has been their scoring talisman for some time now.

Fitzgerald already has injury concerns over Richie Foley, Aidan Kearney and Tomas Ryan, but if Kelly were to fail to make the starting line up, it would be a major setback for them.
