Curran, John

October 10, 2008
Passing of a true Gael A stalwart GAA man answered the final call last week when John curran, a proud native of Cappoquin but an equally proud adopted son of Dungarvan, died suddenly at his home in Comeragh Crescent in the Old Boro. All his life John was immersed in matters GAA and he took immense pride in his son Pat winning so many honours with the Cappoquin club before gong on to cement a regular place in the Waterford team in the late 1980s. The same Pat is on the teaching staff at Dungarvan CBS and is central to all that is good in the now thriving juvenile section in the Dungarvan club. Fittingly the club provided an impressive guard of honour at the removal of John's remains from his home to St. Mary's Parish Church, Dungarvan, last Saturday evening. It was the kind of sincere tribute the man himself would have greatly appreciated and approved of. John is survived by his wife Sheila, by his sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and many other relatives to whom our sincerest sympathy is extended. Go ndeine Dia trocaire ar a anam dilis.
