Dan Shanahan won't be putting his name forward for the vacant Waterford hurling manager's post.

The former Hurler of the Year, who served as a selector under Derek McGrath from 2014 to '18, told WRLFM that he's happy to concentrate on his club commitments with Lismore and St Mary's for now.

"To be honest, I'm happy with what I'm doing at the moment. I havent's discussed anything (in relation to the Waterford vacancy)," 'Big Dan' said.

"I think the county board must get their backroom team sorted first. I know what's in this county and I believe in the players in this county - you don't become a bad team overnight. From the bottom of my heart, I know we have the players to compete with these lads (Kilkenny and Tipperary) who are out there next Sunday."
