Waterford goalkeeper Ian O’Regan may have retired from inter-county hurling, but the Mount Sion shot stopper will be part of the Deíse management team in 2019.

O’Regan brought an end to a 14-year inter county career just last week when he announced that he was retiring.

However, he will still be a familiar face at training as new manager Paraic Fanning has appointed O’Regan as the goalkeeping coach.

He is to be joined in the Déise backroom team by Ger Harris (Ballyduff Lower), John Burns (Ferrybank) and Roger Casey as Fanning continues to finalise his full management team.

O’Regan will be working closely with Stephen O’Keeffe, the man who has kept him out of the number one position for the past few seasons.
