Just a few short months after being told that he may have to give up football for good, injury ravaged Paul Whyte played a starring role for his club in the Waterford SFC.

Whyte was given the devastating news last May that he may have to give up the game due to a persistent hip injury that has plagued him for some time now.

The talented forward has undoubtedly been Waterford's top forward over the last number of years, but the hip injury has almost brought an end to his football career.

However, Whyte scored 1-03 in Kilrossanty’s Waterford SFC quarterfinal win over defending champions Stradbally last weekend.

Arguably, the best forward that the county has ever produced in football, Whyte’s return to the playing field is a huge boost to Kilrossanty’s chances of claiming glory this year.
