Diarmuid Connolly scored 0-12 for Donegal Boston in their Boston SFC final victory over Wolfe Tones last evening.

The exiled Dublin star was the standout performer in Donegal's 0-17 to 1-12 victory at Canton. Donegal had lost to Shannon Blues and Wolfe Tones in the early stages of the championship before Connolly's arrival in mid-summer marked a change in their fortunes.

It remains to be seen if the St. Vincent's clubman's absence from the Dublin fold will be felt when they take on Tyrone in next Sunday's All-Ireland final. Connolly has featured just twice for the Dubs as a substitute since returning from a 12-week suspension for pushing linesman Ciaran Brannigan during last year's Leinster SFC quarter-final against Carlow.

He is eligible to resume playing for his club should he decide to return from the US in the next few weeks.
