Funny old game I thought. In all fairness Mitchells probably hurled well enough to deserve the win but had Murphy's have taken their chances it could have been very different. A 21, a penalty and a good save plus three relatively easy frees missed and it could have been a handsome victory for Murphy's. Mitchells will need to improve to run Fullen close again. Murphy's looked lethargic, backs hurled well in spells but forwards were starved of ball from the midfielders. Mythen and Power would have injected the life Murphy's needed, two very good hurlers on their day.
Fullen won very handy! Fullen by 8 in the final.

Has anyone given thought about the new cup that will be run next year with the junior hurling teams in Britain and the Intermediate hurling teams in London. I don't think many of the clubs down here knew that this had even been proposed not to mind passed. Apparently there will be a round robin system in place. When are these games going to be played and where? Obviously the London teams will play each other in London but if the London teams are going to be entered into his then they need to drop one of the cup competitions in London.

Anyone know whether Mitchels have objected to Fullen. I heard they were going to.

Fullen won yesterday great result and does Stan's chances no harm for the London job. Anyone at it did they deserve it or where they lucky? I was listening to midlands 103 and they were one sided and kept on about all the chances they missed.

Ballinamere have an objection in to Fullen. Looks like their luck has run out. I was at the match and nobody could believe what they did.

BALLINAMERE GAA Club have lost an appeal to Croke Park over their recent defeat by Manchester based club, Fullen Gaels in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship quarter-final.
Ballinamere lost narrowly in Birmingham, bringing an end to a sensational year in which they captured the Offaly Intermediate Hurling Championship and Leinster Junior Hurling Championship titles.
They had high hopes of reaching the All-Ireland junior final but missed a few chances in their big quarter-final in front on a massive traveling support.
They queried the result over the legality of one of the Fullen Gaels players, arguing that he had sent off for a straight red card offence in his final in England and should have been suspended for their game. However, on Friday evening, clarification was received from Croke Park that the referee's report stated the player had been sent off for a second yellow card offence.
Ballinamere held a special meeting last week where it was agreed to submit an appeal - Rumours had surfaced in Birmingham immediately after the game that one of the Fullen Gaels players had been sent off for a straight red card in the All-Britain final and would thus have been ineligible to play. They decided to follow up on it but have now decided to let the matter lie following clarification of the referee's report.
