Harlesden Harps club notes

August 18, 2017

Upcoming Fixture:

Harlesden Harps continue their VGC Services Intermediate Championship campaign when they take on St Anthony's this weekend. The game will take place on Saturday, 19th August at 2:30pm at Wormwood Scrubs, Artillery Lane (Off Du Cane Road), London, W12 0DF. As usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game. After an encouraging first game let's keep the momentum going as the Harps will hope to go one step further in 2017 than last years journey.

The Harps reserve team are also out directly after the first team, beginning their championship crusade against Fulham Irish, again at Wormwood Scrubs, Artillery Lane (Off Du Cane Road), London, W12 0DF on Saturday 19th August at 4:00pm. Let's hope for another battling performance and to begin their campaign with a victory.

Previous Matches:

Harlesden Harps began their championship campaign last weekend with a very impressive victory over St Joesph's on a scoreline of Harps 1-15 St Joesph's 1-05. Right from the throw-in the tone was set with towering midfielder Sean O Halloran bursting forward to slot over the first score of the game. The fine point taking continued with Padraig McGoldrick, Anthony Donelan and John Rafferty amongst the first half scorers. The final nail in the coffin was driven into the Joes early in the second half when full-forward Deccie McCarthy was first to react to a long ball into the danger zone to punch a well taken goal to the net! All in all, a most impressive opening performance to take forward to the remaining games in the competition. Let's now carry this good form on into the next game of the championship.

Training:
