Thomas McCurtains GAA Club Notes

April 25, 2017

It was a mixed bag of results for our teams on Saturday. Our Ladies and Mens Football teams were beaten by Holloway Gaels and Dulwich Harps respectively but a depleted hurling team managed to end the day on a more poitive note by defeating St Declans in the Preliminary Hurling Championship.

On Saturday the Camogie team will play in the Taras 7-a-side Tournament in Greenford. We wish them the best of luck.

FOOTBALL:

Played in perfect conditions in Goodmayes this game started and continued at a frantic pace. It was point for point in the first 10 mins with neither side making the breakthrough they wanted. Dulwich finished the half the stronger with some good point kicking and went in ahead 0-07 to 0-03 at the break. McCurtains couldn't find their rhythm in the second half. Good place kicking by Niall Coffey reduced the deficit but wasn't enough as Dulwich saw out the game.

Result: McArdle Cup Round 3: Thomas McCurtains: 0-09, Dulwich Harps: 1-15.

Training will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Goodmayes (IG3 8XJ) at 7.30pm
