Next Match:

It's county final weekend time with Harlesden Harps up against Neasden Gaels in the final of the VGC Intermediate Football Championship this coming Sunday 25th September at 3:30pm. The match will take place at Greenford (pitch one), London, (UB6 0NZ). It's the place the team has being aiming for all season and now they stand just 60 minutes away from a return to the senior grade. As long as we play to our potential and put in another huge effort we've every chance to emulate the 2005 winning team. Harps abú!

 

As usual, check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and make sure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the games.

 

Previous Matches:

Harlesden Harps reserves finished up their reserve championship campaign with a closely fought game against Taras. With the game played in stifling hot conditions fitness and stamina was bound to be the main factor in who would come out on top. Although there was never much between the sides the Taras had an extra gear when it mattered in the second half to pull away and claim victory. Although the campaign is over for the Harps they can be proud of their ability to fulfil all their fixtures, be competitive and gain a few results along the way of their return to the grade. Roll on 2017!

 

Congratulations:

Congratulations to current player Kevin O'Donovan who tied the knot with the lovely Jen recently, many years of happiness to you both.

 

Training:

For current players training continues every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). New players are always welcome to this well run club which if needed can offer jobs, accommodation and a social life to their members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along.
