St Clarets GFC London club notes

Congratulations to our senior team who started their championship campaign with a 3-20 to 1-3 win over Fr Murphy's in Tottenhall on Sunday. Barry "Sicknote" Lynch eventually made his return to football and he proved he's still the same Barry Lynch by refusing to shoot with his right foot and ballooning it wide with his left instead.

The team was: Gerry Lynott, Luke Kelly, Paddy "Chihuahua" Donaghy, Lawrence Weir, Ronan Gaughan, Padraig Donegan, Eamonn Colleran, Sean Killeen, John O'Connor, Matthew Killeen, Shane Buckley, Paul Keenan, Ryan O'Connell, Pat Lynott, Lyndon Bradley.

Subs: Kavan Fitzpatrick, Conor Martin and Barry Lynch

Next up is our second championship game against Naomh Padraig on Saturday 23rd July, Colindale, 3.30pm throw in.

Montrose Park, Montrose Avenue, Colindale, HA8 0DS

YOUTH UPDATE

Supported by a number of our under 8s, an under 10s selection took part in Saturday's blitz hosted by Thomas McCurtains as part of their family fun day festivities. The team performed impressively and following a last gasp defeat to the hosts in the opening game they came back to record a draw with Tir Chonaill Gaels and an 8 point victory over Gael London. Thanks to all the parents who made the long journey with the players round to Goodmayes.

Team: DJ McNicholas (Captain), Sarah Batt, Finn Murphy, Niall Wallace, Matthew Keane, Daniel Greene, Harry Appelbe and Paddy Gorman.

A reminder that under 8s and under 10s training has now ceased for the summer holidays and will return on Wednesday 31st August.
