MENS FOOTBALL NOTES

Training continues Tuesday and Thursday in Goodmayes at 7.30pm.

The footballers played the semi-final of the McArdle cup on Saturday the 18/04/2015. The final score was Thomas McCurtains 0-14, Shalloe Pearses 1-02.  The first half was very closely contested with both teams squandering chances from decent positions.  The half time score line was Thomas McCurtains 0-05 Shalloe Pearses 1-01. The turning point in the game was the sending off of a Pearses defender for a dangerous tackle. McCurtains used the extra man very well and dominated the second half to eventually run out comfortable winners. Well done to all players and management in reaching their first final of the year which will be contested against the winners of Eire Og and St Clarets.

Footballers are next out on Sunday 26th April in Goodmayes at 3.00pm against Garryowen in the First Round of the League

MENS HURLING NOTES

Training continues Tuesday and Thursday in Goodmayes at 7.30pm.

 

LADIES NOTES

Ladies training takes place in East London Rugby Club (West Ham, E15 3BP) from this Tuesday and continues Thursdays at 7pm in Goodmayes pitch (IG3 8XJ).

The ladies were defeated by Heston Gaels 4-13 to 0-9 in the Junior League. Score line doesn't reflect the possession and effort of McCurtains throughout the game. The full back line of Deirdre McArdle, Cora Commane and Aoife Jenkins played fantastic football to close down Heston's attack in the second half. Scores from Orla King, Nicola O'Donnell, Kellie Carr and Catherine Barrett.

Next up for the ladies is a home game on Sunday 26th April. Junior League third round vs TCG, Goodmayes pitch at 11am.
