Bergin's delight

December 12, 2014

Kilburn Gaels manager Tom Bergin admitted that they were delighted to be in an All-Ireland semi-final.

The London side qualified for the All-Ireland club IHC semi-final following a 1-10 to 1-08 win over Kilkenny side Mullinavat.

Despite going into the match as massive underdogs, the exiles produced a wholehearted display to earn a merited victory and Bergin told the Irish Post that they were ecstatic.

"We're delighted, delighted to get out of it. The lads gave an absolutely savage performance. Every man died on his feet in the game," said Bergin.

Kilburn Gaels captain Keith Kennedy added: "These chances don't come around too often so you have to take them when they do."
