While London failed to scale last year's dizzy heights this season, their manager Paul Coggins was nevertheless pleased that they didn't go out of the championship without a fight.

Speaking after the Exiles came close to beating Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday, the Roscommon native reflected: "I'm very, very proud but obviously I'm disappointed we didn't make it to the next round.

"I thought the performance in the second half was outstanding. We came back and we were a lot of points down. They showed great heart and great commitment to bounce back from the Galway defeat and we didn't get the result in the end, but we did get the performance.

"They were exceptional today."

Coggins insisted he had no regrets about not having started Mark Gottsche who, despite carrying an injury, made a huge impact when he came on.

"Mark has been caught with injury for the last 10 days, did well when he came on, but he had the adrenaline flowing. Should he have started? No regrets - we don't have regrets."
