We had the wind in our favour in the first half and built up a five point lead at half time. The second half was the oppisite of the first half with St Clarets dominating the scoring. Clarets had a four point lead with three minutes to when we got a goal to reduce the deficit to one point. We pushed on but didnt get the change to get a score.

Player interview with Chris McNabb

If you could take a sportsman from another sport and turn him into a footballer, who would you take?
Eddie the Eagle- he's got guts, determination and no fear!! We could've done with him togging out for the Moindearg match!!

Who was your toughest under-age opponent in Down?
My toughest opponent would have actually been a Referee called Mickey Heaney! He always gave us a hard time- think he had something against Carryduffians!! If he was refereeing these days, he'd be producing black cards like the were going out of fashion.

Who was your sporting idol growing up?
James McCartan- lightning quick on the ball and pulled off some cracking scores in his day!

Do you possess any sentimental GAA items?
I was at the 1991 All Ireland Final when Down beat Meath. Neil Collins managed to get a few of us into the post match banquet in the Burlington. Got my Match Programme signed by the complete 'Dream Team!!'

Who is the greatest ever sportsman in your opinion?
Are animals included in this?- if so, Red Rum. (Closely followed by Muhammad Ali)

If you could play an All-Ireland final in any stadium outside of Ireland, where would you like to play it?
The Mile High Stadium, Denver-Colorado. A superb part of the world up in the Rocky Mountains!!

What's the best score you've ever gotten in your career?
It was a while ago, but....scoring 3 goals in a u16 match for Carryduff GAC against Dundrum! Lets hope the shooting boots can pull off a few decent scores this season!

Are there any sporting managers from other codes who you find inspirational?
Without a doubt... It's Brendan Rodgers! He's gonna lead the mighty Reds to victory this year!!

What's the best sports book that you've ever read?
Im currently reading Barry McGuigans 'Cyclone: My Story'- what a Legend!! A superb sports man and Ambassador for the country. He also had a great brand of crisps!!

What is your favourite type of food?
Saturday morning= Strong Coffee, Toast, Scrambled Eggs & Nando's Hot Sauce.....The Breakfast of Champions!!

What was the last live sporting event you attended?
The White Collar Boxing event at the London Irish Centre in March. Fair play to Kieran and Paddy for taking part- they did a great job!! I reckon we should run a fundraising version of this for the Club....!
