Urney St. Columba's - Club Notes

Adult:

 

Senior & Reserve training schedule for this week is as follows:

Monday 11th February at Melvin Astro pitch from 7-8pm.

Wednesday 13th February at the Muga pitch in the Glebe from 8-9.30pm.

Saturday 16th February at 10am in Cutt Park.

 

All current, new and returning players welcome.

 

Youth:  
 
The Under 14 boys began training on Saturday and will continue each Saturday from 11 to 12 in Doneyloop hall. 

If anyone or any local businesses are interested in sponsoring the under 14’s please contact Patsy Logue, Veronica McMenamin or message the Facebook page for more details.

 
Minor training has now begun. If you would like to play minor football this year please contact Ronan Lafferty for more information. 
 
Pitchside Hoardings:

 

If any local businesses are interested in having Hoardings displayed alongside the pitch we are currently taking enquiries. We offer bespoke packages tailored to help promote your business at our home ground as well as our updated social media platforms, for a number of years. With the 2019 season due to begin for youth and adult football, your business will be displayed in prominent positions around our pitch.

Planning for Pre-Season Workshop

Ulster GAA together with Disability Sport NI are running a workshop introducing coaches to Autism and Sports Coaching. The workshop will take place on Wednesday 13th February at St. Mary’s GS in Magherafelt.

Membership 2019: 
 
The club held the second of its membership nights last Friday. All members both previous and new need to fill in a new membership form to comply with GDPR.  
 
Rates for 2019 as follows, 
 
Adult players £30 
Non playing adult £20 
Youth £20 
OAP £10 
Family £50 
 
Other nights will be scheduled in coming weeks for more information contact Club Registrar Cathal McGowan or keep an eye on Facebook. 
 
 
National GAA tickets: 
 
National GAA draw tickets have been given out and everyone is asked to return these asap. All proceeds will go towards the club and there are some fantastic prizes available.

 
Chosen by you participant: 
 
It’s the last few weeks of this and we are asking for a final push.

 

Spread the word! Urney St. Columba's has been selected to be one of Asda's Chosen By You participants!  
 
I'm sure you seen this sort of thing before, anyone shopping at Asda gets given tokens (please ask for some if they're not handed over, feel free to ask for lots!) and one of the clear boxes you can put your tokens in is for Urney. At the end of the competition whichever of the three causes has the most tokens get a cheque for £500. The two runners up get £200.

The club lotto numbers for  Monday 11th February were; 6 - 15 - 20 - 25.   No Jackpot Winner – one Match 3 winner - James McCormack, Urney Court – Next Week’s Jackpot - £2,800 
 
Thanks to all who promote, sell and organise our lotto. Special thanks to Paul Bogle, Fergal Harper, Vincent Langan and Ali Logue our Lotto counters for February. This is a major source of income and it is hoped over the next few weeks that it will also be available online. Keep an eye on club Facebook and Twitter pages for more info.
