The Four Masters GAA club in Coventry is mourning the loss of one of its founder members.

Donegal legend Pat James Burke was laid to rest in Frosses last weekend having returned to Ireland in the 1970s.

Burke had been a regular for Donegal before emigrating to England during the 1950s. While there, he was instrumental in the founding of the Four Masters club in Coventry.

Pat James played for Warwickshire throughout the 1950s, lining out against the likes of Cork and Mayo in the All-Ireland JFC championship.

Survived by his six children, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild, may he rest in peace.
