Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes

October 08, 2018

Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes – Monday 8th October 2018 Seniors The Seniors took on North London Shamrocks in the Semi Final of the Championship yesterday afternoon at McGovern Park in Ruislip. Played in perfect conditions, the Gaels got off to the best start possible when Killian Butler and Brian Mullin both found the back of the Shamrocks net inside the opening 2 minutes. NLS rallied back to convert a penalty to score a goal of their own, but 5 points from the TCG forward line before a Kevin Rafferty goal on the stroke of half time saw the lads head into the break leading on a score line of 3-5 to 1-4.

With NLS down to 14 men for the start of the 2 nd half, Liam Gavaghan began to punish the Shamrocks indiscipline by converting 5 frees from the 21 yard line. Another red card for NLS midway through the 2 nd half all but killed the game as Ryan Kearney, Killian Butler, Liam Gallagher and Captain Fantastic Anthony McDermott all picked off scores before Brian Mullin grabbed his 2 nd goal of the game to see the lads safely through to the final.

Final Score: TCG 4-14 NLS 1-4

The ladies will also be entering in the 7 a side tournament in aid of Siobhan McCann of Dulwich Harps on Saturday 27th October in Greenford. All support welcome on this day to help raise funds to pay for Siobhan’s life saving treatment.

TCG Golf Day TCG’s annual Golf Day was held on Friday 5 th October 2018 at South Herts Golf Club and once again it was a great success.
