Kanturk (Cork) 2-17

Kilburn Gaels (London) 2-8

Anthony Nash saved a penalty as Kanturk defeated Kilburn Gaels in Ruislip to set up an All-Ireland club IHC semi-final meeting with Middletown of Armagh early in the New Year.

The north Cork outfit have had a hectic schedule of hurling and football action in recent months, but can now look forward to taking a well-earned break after this comfortable quarter-final win. The London senior kingpins put it up to the visitors in the first half and would have trailed by the minimum at half-time had Cork 'keeper Nash not saved a Stephen Lambert penalty. Instead, they trailed by 0-5 to 0-9.

That missed opportunity came back to haunt Kilburn when Liam O'Keeffe netted for Kanturk shortly after the restart, Jody Troy pulled one back for the hosts in the 41st minute, only for ex-Cork star Lorcan McLoughlin to reply with Kanturk's second major.

Galway man Lambert drilled home a late goal from a free, but it was a mere consolation score for Kilburn.
