Pubs for before the match on Saturday

(Oldest Posts First)

Any decent pubs you'd recommend for meath supporters before the match.

Also anywhere we should avoid around Omagh being the day it is and all?

If you say your name is Geoff and your a Royal fan you should be ok!

Best GAA pubs in Omagh are located at the Top of the Town near the courthouse such as Mccanns, Terrace, Sallys, Top of the Town. None round the ground at all. If your inside the ground on the stand side St Enda's social club is open before, during and after the game.

There only really 2 places to get a few pints near the ground itself, both on the Gortin road (the road Healy Park is on) - the Silver Birches Hotel and the Glebe bar. Glebe bar is closest to the ground, around 300m from main entrance.

Town will be grand that early on the 11th I would say. Only one real street to avoid this weekend is Campsie where the 24hr petrol station is located. Everywhere else will be grand. There is never any trouble in omagh around this weekend tbh people just let them get on with it.

You will get a pint in the ground or else hit the Glebe just before the ground.

Safe trip up

There will only be trouble if you look for it. :)

The quiet room in Eddies is a great place to watch the game. They will even put you up for a few days.

Anytime I go to Omagh and its quite a bit (the evil side of my family support tyrone ha ha) I get up early and get into the ground. Nice we bar in the clubhouse and avoids cues before the game.....plus you are giving your money to the GAA and a local club

Ballyshannon, Kesh, Ederney and Omagh, you will be grand that early on the 11th even later on ye will be grand. They will just be in the pubs in Lack and Kesh but you will have no bother.

Just keep the windows up, turn the wolfe tones down and pull the tricolours in lol. Nah in all seriousness you will be spot on.

Jack I was in the clubhouse bar last year when Tyrone trashed Louth. Its a grand Wee bar.

Jack, when you cross the border at Aughnacloy head up the road to Augher and call into McKenna's Bar or call into it on your return from Omagh where you can celebrate your win or drown your sorrows. Eitherway you will be given a warm welcome, have the craic and get a great pint of the black stuff. It's one of the best GAA Bars in the North.( about 15 miles from Omagh.

Where's the best place to park the car?

You'll get parked in or around the ground, just don't block the locals as you'll get a ticket from the lovely policemen. There is a cemetery ground on the other side of the road with a big car park also.
