Strabane Sigersons and Trillick St. Macartan's club notes.

Adult Football:
The senior footballers had a convincing win away to Castlederg in the O'Neill's Sportswear Tyrone ACL Division Three last Friday night to go two points clear at the top of the league. The reserve team received a walkover against the same opposition. Warmest thanks are extended to the Castlederg club for their excellent hospitality following the game. The senior and reserve teams both have four league games left to play. Next up will be a home fixture against Glenelly, then the final away game at Clogher and finishing off with two home games against Newtownstewart and Drumquin. Both teams also have League Cup games at home to both Beragh and Clogher also to play. All support for the teams would be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes are extended to the clubs senior footballers when they play Augher in the opening round of the WJ Dolan Tyrone Junior Championship this Sunday 27th July at Loughmacrory. Throw-in time is fixed for 2:00pm. Transport will leave the clubrooms at 12:30pm and all support for the team would be very welcome.
Training for the clubs senior and reserve teams continues on Wednesday and Friday nights at Páirc Mhic Sioghair. All players are asked to be on the pitch and ready to go for 7:40pm each night. Any players who are unable to attend any of the sessions are asked to ensure that they contact Dermot or Dessie.
Any club player at adult level who has yet to receive their training top are asked to contact Paddy Jack without delay.
Youth Football:
The Juvenile footballers planned league games against Omagh and Beragh scheduled over the next week are both off and will be rearranged for later dates. Details of forthcoming games will be made available at training.
Coaching for the clubs Juvenile (Under 16's) footballers will continue every Tuesday night from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Páirc Mhic Sioghair, all new players welcome.
The clubs Under 12 game against Errigal Ciarán was off last Monday night owing to many players being away on holidays.
The Under 10 footballers travelled to play in a Go Games Blitz at Dromore last Saturday. Thanks are extended to the host club for their kind hospitality.
The Under 8 footballers will travel to play in a Go Games Blitz in Carrickmore this Saturday morning. Transport will leave the clubrooms at 9:30am sharp and all players are asked to be present by 9:15am and to bring a water bottle and £1:50 for the bus.
There will be coaching for the clubs Under 12 and 10 age groups this Saturday morning at the club grounds from 11am -12noon.
Coaching for all Under 12, 10 and 8age groups will continue every Tuesday night from 7-8pm at the club grounds. New players are always welcome.
Belated wishes to club youth player Dara Gartland who was selected from the recent Club Tyrone Summer Camp held at the club grounds to play at half-time in this seasons Tyrone County Final. Well done also to club players Katie McGillian and Jordan Devine who were selected as Best Girl and Boy of the camp respectively and received an O'Neill's football.
Ladies Football:
The senior ladies next scheduled league game is fixed for tomorrow night (Friday) 25th July at home to Kildress. There may be some change to this and all players are asked to contact the team management.
Training for the Senior Ladies continues on Monday nights at Páirc Mhic Sioghair from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Training is also on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. The Tyrone Ladies Grade 3 Juvenile league gets underway next Monday night 28th July with a home game against Trillick. Throw-in time is fixed for 7:30pm and all players are asked to be at the clubrooms by 6:45pm.
The Juvenile girls travelled to Ederney, County Fermanagh last Wednesday night to play a challenge game and came away with a good win. Coaching for the clubs Juvenile Ladies squad will continue on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. New players are very welcome. The Under 12 girls played at home to Aghyaran in the league on Tuesday night past and following a highly entertaining game the sides finished level with the young Sigersons goalkeeper denying the visitors a winner with an excellent penalty save with the last kick of the game. Thanks are extended to Brendan Gallagher who refereed the game.
There will be training for all Under 14, 12 and 10 girls at the club grounds from 7:00-8:00pm every Tuesday night. All new players are very welcome. All female players are asked to ensure that they have their registration fees fully paid up.
Best Wishes:
Everyone at the club extends congratulations and best wishes to club "Water Boy" Niall Doherty and ladies player Rhonda McShane who got engaged last Friday on the Big Wheel in Belfast. We wish them well for the future.
Good Luck Tyrone:
The club extends good luck and best wishes to Tyrone senior footballers in their All Ireland qualifier against Westmeath this Saturday afternoon at Healy Park, Omagh. Hopefully they can build on the display against Louth last Saturday and advance to the next round. Tickets are only required for the stand with admission to the terraces by payment at the turnstiles.
Comhghairdeas:
Congratulations to Tyrone minor footballers on winning the Ulster minor championship last Sunday and best wishes in their forthcoming All Ireland quarter-final clash against Roscommon.
Best wishes also to the Tyrone minor ladies who also defeated Monaghan last weekend in the All Ireland semi-final and will now play Dublin in the All Ireland Final.
Club gear & Leisurewear:
The first batch of the new club gear and leisurewear has now been distributed and judging by reaction there will be a need for a second order very shortly. Anyone who has yet to receive gear should contact Youth Officer Kieran O'Kane. Anyone interested in ordering any gear, shorts, socks, kit bags, polo shirts or tracksuits should also contact Kieran O'Kane without delay. This also applies to adult members.
400 Club Draw:
The 400 Club draws for July & August will take place on Friday 29th August. All returns should be made to Ignatius Maguire or Aodhán Harkin by Thursday 28th August at the very latest. All Promoters should ensure that they have their returns up to date. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
Membership Fees:
The club membership for 2008 is now officially closed. Social Membership can still be paid and any new playing members at adult or youth levels (male and female) will also be accepted.

Could all Alphalot promoters please note that there will be no Alphalot draw on Monday 4th August, it will resume as normal on Monday 11th August. All club members are urged to play their part in promoting the Alphalot that is a major source of revenue for the club. All Alphalot promoters are asked to ensure that they have their envelopes in the clubrooms by 8:00pm on a Monday night. Late entries will be entered into the following weeks draw. Sympathy:
Everyone at the club extends their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the late Ambrose Brennan, Drumrallagh Estate, the late Brendan Devenney, Chestnut Park, the late John McGranaghan, Ballycolman Avenue and the late Michael Gallagher formerly of Strabane who died in England. Mary queen of the Gael pray for them.
Social Activities:
Entertainment continues as usual in the Social Club this weekend. Saturday: Live G.A.A. games on the big screen. Tyrone v Westmeath @ 3pm followed by Donegal v Monaghan @ 5pm. Saturday Night: Mervyn Finlay. Sunday Night: The Two Amigos.
The Social Club Committee are organising a big fun weekend during the 22nd/23rd/24th August with a Charity G.A.A. match, a Fun Day and a range of other activities for all the family. More details will follow shortly. All club members are urged to lend their support for the event with all the proceeds going towards the Royal Victoria Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast.

The Senior Ladies take on Fr Rocks in the championship final on Sunday evening at 7.30pm in Carrickmore. Good Luck to both players and management. Please note that the U10 girls >from both clubs will be taking part in the 7 a side game at half time.
Girl's U16 League kicks off on Monday 28th July when Trillick travel to take on Strabane Sigersons with throw in at 7pm. Transport leaving the town at 5.30pm. U16 training continues this evening(Thursday) at 7.00pm on the small training field, all players must attend.
The U12 girls traveled to Cappagh on Monday evening and came away with a very convincing victory, well done to all involved. U10 & U12 training for both boys and girls continues on Friday evening at 6pm.
Congratulations to Carla Donnelly and Tyrone Minors on reaching the All Ireland Minor Final when they overcame Monaghan in Kinawley last Sunday evening. Tyrone will now meet Dublin in the final on Monday 4th August in Breffni Park.
The Club is now taking names of all those interested in taking part in Defibrillator Training. It is also important that all managers of all age groups take part in this training; it is also available to those who would like a refresher course on how to use the defibrillator. Please give your name to any committee member.
Congratulations to Mattie Donnelly and Tyrone Minors on their Ulster Championship success last Sunday.
