With on-field club activity severely restricted recently due to the holiday period, many local Gaels took the opportunity last weekend to follow the fortunes of our county teams. Moy folk were well represented at Drogheda on Saturday night when the Tyrone seniors eased past the challenge of Louth in the All-Ireland Qualifiers, and at Clones on Sunday as the Red Hand minors successfully retained their Ulster crown. From our own club's perspective, it was great to see all four Moy players involved in Tyrone's emphatic victory over Louth and we wish them the very best of luck in this weekend's All-Ireland Qualifier Round Two match at home to Westmeath. Here's hoping that Colm, Philip, Ryan, Sean and the entire Tyrone team and management can embark on another memorable trip through the back-door of the championship! Meanwhile, we congratulate the Tyrone minor squad and management on another provincial triumph at Clones. Their three point win against Monaghan in the Ulster showpiece was fully deserved. We wish this talented group of players every success as they move forward to the All-Ireland stage. Croke Park Debut Another Moy player who has been involved in inter-county action recently is our underage member Eunan Deeney. Earlier this year, Eunan was selected on the Tyrone Under 16 Development Squad and has since been gaining great experience at this level. Just last week, this promising young T'r na nÓg attacker was a member of the county panel which played an important match against southern opposition at Croke Park. 2008 Summer Draw Our club's Summer Fundraising Draw will be held this Saturday 26th July. There are five cash prizes to be won in this special draw which was launched at the recent Fleadh weekend in Moy. Tickets, priced £5 each, are available from any committee member. Centenary Photo-Shoot As part of our Centenary celebrations, everyone with connections to An Mhaigh G.A.C. is invited to Pairc Th'r na nÓg on Saturday 16th August for what will be a very special and unique photo-shoot. We would like all club members, past and present, as well as the families of players to come along on this date and be a part of this commemorative group photograph. Our club is 100 years old this year and what better way to mark the momentous occasion than to have all Moy Gaels - young and old, male and female - included in one celebratory picture. Everyone will be asked to wear their club colours and assemble inside the covered stand at Pairc Th'r na nÓg on Saturday 16th August at 5.30pm. A professional photographer will be on hand to capture the moment. ********* Colin Mackle (P.R.O.) Kildress YOUTH FOOTBALL The U 8's will play in a blitz on Saturday morning in Moortown.
