Munroe relishing Monaghan clash
July 15, 2008
Raymond Munroe has admitted that he is looking forward to his Tyrone minor side meeting the challenge of Monaghan in this Sunday's Ulster MFC final at Clones.
The Red Hands boss acknowledges that the young Farney me will pose a completely new threat to his side, but they thinks they will know a lot more about each at the end of the day.
-"It's a completely new challenge to ourselves, for we haven't played Monaghan this number of years. In our time in management, they have always been in the other section," said Munroe.
"We're certainly looking forward to it, it is an Ulster final, but I think we'll be learning an awful lot about each other on the day."
Tyrone enter this provincial decider as favourites to capture a 21st provincial crown, but Munroe is adamant that his side will have to do it by taking their chances when they are in their dominate spells during the game.
"You strive to get that perfect performance, but I don't think it's realistic. But what we will be looking to do is capitalise on the periods of domination that we have, and try and ensure that we do as much damage as possible," said the Tyrone boss.
"And the periods of domination that Monaghan are going to have, we're going to have to work hard as a team to limit it and leave it that it's not going to hurt us at the end of the day."
