Strabane Sigersons GAA hosted the biggest Tyrone Football Camp of the summer with 205 children in attendance all sampling the delights of Gaelic Football hosted at the excellent facilities at Páirc Mhic Sioghair over the course of four days.

The week was packed full of quality coaching and fun games organised by the visiting Tyrone coaches with several club coaches also lending a helping hand.

Assisted by several parents, the club then extended the children's enjoyment by organising a family fun day on the final day of the Camp which was widely received and enjoyed with the sunshine even breaking through to complete a great week of activities.

The prize winners at the camp included personality awards for young participants Paige, Micha, Toni, Che, Tiernan, Jodi, Rian, Patrick, Claire, Megan and Crystal who all received a certificate and a football.

Riley Neeson and Cahir Grimley qualified to represent the Club in the half time games at the Tyrone County Final later in the year. Ciarán McDaid, Ronan Snodgrass, Liana McIntyre and Niambh Foley top scored in the skills challenge and will attend a coaching day with Tyrone Senior County Players due to be held in August.

Once again the Club are indebted to Lisnafin Ardnalee Trust CCDA in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council via their Community Support Fund who continually provides financial support to allow our youth players to participate in the Tyrone Summer Camps at a reduced fee, thank you very much for your generosity.

Thanks are also extended to the local businesses, groups and individuals who supported our fun Day, these include: PFG Bubblemania, Rolling Waves band, Mighty Mascots, Strabane Community Rescue Service, Mr Whippy Ice-Cream van and not forgetting local singer and club member Jamie Donnelly.

In conclusion a hearty go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir goes out to all the youth who participated, their parents and guardians for their excellent support, to the coaches from Tyrone G.A.A. and Strabane and the guest County players on the final day Tiernan and Conal McCann, Neamh Woods and Niamh O'Neill.
