Terry Hyland was proud of his Cavan players after they refused to raise the white flag against Tyrone in today's Ulster SFC semi-final.

The Breffni County were staring the exit door in the face when trailing by three points entering stoppage time but David Givney's second goal of the game rescued a share of the spoils.

"It was good to see the lads pushing on until the end," Hyland told BBC Northern Ireland.

"It was our score taking that let us down today. We probably had opportunities that we should have finished and we were delighted to get another crack of the whip.

"It was tight all through, it was only a two, three point game and I suppose once you can keep it that tight you're always going to get an opportunity and thank God we did."

Looking ahead to the replay, which is fixed for Sunday, July 3, Hyland continued: "We'll have to look at our finishing for a start, that's the one thing we'll have to work on over the next couple of weeks."
