Mickey Harte was bitterly disappointed with Tyrone's failure to convert at least three goal chances that came their way against Kerry.

The Red Hands opened up the Kingdom defence on a number of occasions, but raised only the one green flag when Peter Harte converted a 60th minute penalty.

"I suppose we created a number of goal chances and didn't get any from play," the Tyrone manager ruefully noted.

"If any of those had gone in, it would have been very good for us.

"What do you say? You're playing the champions. That's why they are champions. They are very hard to beat. They are a quality side. This is the real hard end of the season and you're meeting quality sides.

"I think we could have got something more out of the game today if we'd been more clinical. If we'd been more clinical with our shooting, then we might have asked more questions of Kerry."

In confirming his intention to remain at the helm for a 14th season, Harte added: "I really enjoy this role and feel privileged to be in the position. I think there are great young players in Tyrone at the minute, a great mix of middle-aged and not-so-young, and they're a good bunch.

"They are very committed athletes and it's a pleasure to work with them."
