Former Tyrone star Enda McGinley is confident that Mickey Harte's men can string together a strong Qualifier run.

The Red Hands open their back-door campaign against Limerick on Sunday and triple All-Ireland winner McGinley sees encouraging signs:

"They'll take a lot from that performance against Donegal, and seeing the level at which Donegal performed against Armagh, that gives Tyrone's performance in Ballybofey even more credibility," the Errigal Ciaran clubman told The Irish Independent. "They've got a draw that I think they'll be happy enough with, although they're obviously not going to admit that.

"They'll not make anybody sit up and take notice of them, no matter how much they beat Limerick by. For Tyrone it's a job to get done, and I have all the faith that the boys will go out and do that.

"Tyrone found Limerick a tough enough obstacle in the past, but I think Limerick and Tyrone are in two different places at the minute. Tyrone will have much more ambition for these qualifiers than Limerick, so while Limerick will travel with confidence, I think Tyrone should have enough about them to go out and do a straightforward job.

"We saw sparks against Donegal of a seriously competitive unit, which maybe that team haven't shown of themselves before. I think they'll take heart from the performance in Ballybofey and they'll push on."
