As Tyrone head for the Qualifiers, Justin McMahon remains positive that they can yet have a say in this year's championship.

McMahon carried out an effective man-marking job on Michael Murphy in Ballybofey on Sunday, holding the Donegal talisman scoreless from play. But the 2012 All-Ireland winning captain's three late strikes from placed balls consigned the Red Hands to the back-door route:

"You have to take the positives out of the game. You have to take that into the Qualifiers," Omagh clubman McMahon told The Irish Examiner.

"The Qualifiers are so unpredictable, you just don't know where you're going to end up, and there are other teams there that will be in it at early stages that will be difficult to beat.

"It's just part and parcel of where we are at the minute. We just have to take positives out of that game, and work on them, and hopefully bring them into the Qualifiers."
