Mickey Harte admits it would be a huge blow to Tyrone if they were relegated to Division Two.
The Red Hands travel to Ballybofey on Sunday to face Donegal in what has been dubbed as a relegation showdown and Harte isn't skirting around the issue as he concedes that slipping out of the top flight is almost unthinkable.
"I've always said it and I'll never change - it's critical to be in Division One," the Tyrone boss told The Irish News. "That's where the best teams are by virtue of the fact the All-Ireland champions are in Division One any given season.
"That's the division you want to be in. If you're not in that division it's a disadvantage because you're not playing the best teams on a regular basis in the run-up to the championship.
"I can't see any other argument. So this is definitely a very important game to us on Sunday."
