Omagh St. Enda's midfielder Joe McMahon and manager Larry Strain weren't making any excuses after their side's heart-breaking Ulster club SFC final loss to Slaughtneil.

Christopher Bradley kicked the winning point in injury-time after Jason McAnulla should have had a free at the other end, but a crestfallen McMahon wasn't using this as an excuse.

"We could maybe look back to the Jason McAnulla incident when he was going through and got a push in the back - I think everyone in the ground saw it bar the referee, but credit to Slaughtneil," the county star said.

"They worked hard and took their chances better than we did."

Strain was also ruing St. Enda's first half prolificacy.

"I suppose you could say that we didn't take our chances in the first half and then we let them back into the game after the break," he said.

"When you get to this stage of the championship season you like to think you can finish with a win but it wasn't to be.

"But you just have to hand it to Slaughtneil. They are a great side and they deserve all they have achieved. It's always a long way back from the position in which we find ourselves but that's something I don't want to even think about at this minute in time."
